“We’re going to a shoe party,” sang my three-year old daughter most of the way to Sunbeam Studios in wild West London on Saturday morning. While new product launches and shoe parties are a fairly regular occurrence in my diary, I don’t often get to take my daughter. But this was the launch of Charlotte Olympia’s Incy collaboration with Crayola - and it was exactly what little girls (and mummy’s) dreams are made of.

The shoes we were there to celebrate are the sweetest little slip-on sneakers, with a Kitty embroidered on the toe - a Charlotte Olympia signature - but which come with a set of fabric pens to colour in the rainbow, mermaid, cheetah and juicy fruit prints. Emoji explosion!

As a kid’s party it was the bomb - there were tokens to trade for popcorn, pick ’n’ mix and colouring packs, they played Despacito, little boys staged a balloon football match… and the colouring in concept reminded me of the little flowers I painted on my DMs circa 1994. Customisation is like catnip to me and my daughter is thrilled with the Incy shoes I bought her. I just wish they came in my size.
